Elbow Pain Specialist

The elbow is a complex hinge joint, allowing for flexion and extension, as well as rotation of the forearm. Elbow pain is usually related to overuse, in sports related injuries, such as golf, baseball and tennis. Acute injuries such as tears, sprains, and osteoarthritis are less common. The elbow is more resistant to wear and tear than many other joints. Repetitive injuries (medial and lateral epicondylitis) are the most common causes of elbow pain.

Other causes may include:

  • Dislocation
  • Fracture
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Ligament Sprains and Tears
  • Pitcher’s Elbow
  • Radial Tunnel Syndrome

Treating Your Elbow Pain

Conservative therapy remains a mainstay for elbow pain. This can involve rest, anti-inflammatories, and various physical therapy modalities (including ice/heat application, TENS, and ultrasound therapy). However, in refractory cases, regenerative therapies can be quite useful. These may include Platelet Rich Plasma and A2M (alpha 2 macroglobulin) therapy. Tendon tears and intra-articular conditions however would be more amenable to Regenerative Cell or Exosome therapy, to aid in healing of the joint abnormality.
